A kaleidoscope of images inspired by recent visits around the globe and the threads which are pulled through different geographies while travelling and returning to see experiences at home with fresh eyes. In 1970, Pamela Scott Wilkie drove overland to Asia from the UK through Turkey, Iran and remote parts of Afghanistan. She produced a suite of 20 hand-pulled screen prints based on this experience setting up a studio in Rawalpindi making them there in a signed and numbered edition of 45. The paper size is 40 x 56cms.
"Pamela Scott Wilkie travelled extensively through the Middle East to find other cultural traditions that suited her metier. Journey, a series of silkscreen prints made in 1972, including scenes from Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Pakistan and Nepal, is an extremely evocative work of art, depicting parts of the world that had resonance with her own personal aesthetic adventure from the beginning.
